Queries / Clarinda A. Greathouse (Sayre)
« on: February 15, 2007, 10:19:15 AM »
Clarinda A. Greathouse was the first wife of Holdridge S. Sayre , whom she married 13 Feb 1855 in Doddridge County. Clarinda, the daughter of James Greathouse and Paulina Van Horn, died 31 Mar 1857 and is buried at Coleman Cemetery, Doddridge County.
WV State Archives indicate that  Holdridge S. Sayre was a Captain of the 180th West Virginia Militia during the Civil War.

Any related info would be appreciated.

Queries / looking for parents of Brandville Greathouse
« on: December 07, 2006, 09:45:15 PM »
Hello, I am looking for the parents of Brandvile Greathouse. He was born about 1850 in WV. He had a wife named Alice. I know they had at least one child named Charles Greathouse who married Myrta(Myrtie) Wadsworth. Charles and Myrtie had two children, Ralph and Carl. (Ralph was my grandfather) I think Charles died about 1919. 1920 census records show that Myrtie and her children then lived with Brandville and Alice in Morgantown, West Virginia. I would appreciate any information.

Thanks, Eric Greathouse

Hello, My name is Eric Greathouse, I live in Stow Ohio. I am trying to trace my roots, but cant seem to go back past my grandparents who's names are Ralph Greathouse who is dead and Lois Greathouse still living. My grandmother told me that Ralph's father was Charles Greathouse and his wife's name was Myrtie. I have found a 1910  census record that matches Charles and Myrtie and states that he was born about 1889 and lived in Marion WV. If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated Thanks, Eric
