My grandmother was Sarah Emma Greathouse born in Illinois probably in Cass county or Schyler county. She married my grandfather, Francis Horace Hoage Dec 1881 in Beardstown, IL. The marriage certificate lists her father as Janus or Ianus Greathouse and her mother as Mary I McConneheigh. I have looked for both family names in Illinois county records both in Vermillion county and in the geneaology section of the Urbana Free Library. There are no census records found for Janus Greathouse or the McConneheigh families in the 1850, 1860 1870, or 1880 records. Any assistance on the Greathouse lineage would be greatly appreciated.
