1792, Jan 17 - Court: Deposition of Harmon Greathouse

Deposition of Harmon Greathouse [ View @ Fold 3 ]

The Following is the Deposition of Harmon Greathouse Aged about Seventy five years who being duly sworn on the holy Evangelist of Almighty God Deposeth and Saith:

That at the time he, this Deponent Sold a Bond which he had obtained of a Certain John Elder for the Sum of two hundred and fifty five pounds to a Certain Ludwick Wampler that he this deponent told said Wampler that he must allow said Elder for three Orders which he this deponent had drew on said Elder Viz: one for the of Abel Brown, one for the use of Hugh Finlay and on for the use of Thomas Stains, the whole to the amount of about Sixty pound, which has been Setled by said Elder ans is to be deducted out of the aforesaid Bond and further this Deponent Saith not.

Sworn before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace for Baltimore County this 17ty day of January 1792.

Footnotes:

1) A Harmon Greathouse, age 75 in 1792, would have been born about 1717. Since the birth of this Harmon Greathouse occurred before the marriage of Johannes Adolph Grothaus and Anna Amelia Miller on 10 Nov 1720, he was probably the son named as Hermand/Harmand in the will Henry Grothaus, which was probated on 28 Feb 1744, in Philadelphia County, PA.
