This Indenture made this third day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Ninety two [3 Mar 1792] Between Herman Greathouse of Baltimore County and State of Maryland of the one part and Michael Elder of the County and State aforesaid of the other part whereas the said Herman Greathouse was heretofore Seized of an indefeasible Estate of Inheritance in ten acres of Land lying and being in Baltimore County Called and known by the named of Hermans Vally and whereas also the said Harman Greathouse on the Twenty sixth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Eighty three in Consideration of two hundred and fifty five Pounds Current Money of Maryland to him in hand paid by a Certain John Elder of Baltimore County the said Harman Greathouse did by his Certain Obligation in Writing bearing date the day and year aforesaid bind himself to the said John Elder in the penal sum of Five hundred Pounds Conditioned for the Conveyance of the aforesaid ten acres of Land to the said John Elder his heirs and assigns and whereas also the said John Elder on the twenty third day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Eighty four [23 Dec 1784] did assign all his right title and Interest in the said Bond of Conveyance (so given by the said Harman Greathouse) to the said Michael Elder now this Indenture witnesseth that the said Harman Greathouse for and in Consideration of the premises aforesaid and for the further consideration of five Shillings to him in hand paid by the said Michael Elder at or before the Ensealing and Delivery of those presents the receipt whereof the said Harman Greathouse doth hereby acknowledge and himself therewith fully satisfied and paid and by these presents doth acquit and forever discharge the said Michael Elder his heirs Executors and Administrators and each and Every of them by these presents Hath Given Granted bargained Sold aliened enfeoffed released and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell alien Enfeoffe and Confirm unto the siad Michael Elder his heirs and assignes forever all the before mentioned tract or parcel of Land Containing ten acres called and known by the name of Harmas Valley Beginning for the same at a bounded white oak standing on the South Side of the Piney Falls and running thence north twenty one degrees west fourteen perches north eighty three degrees west of Eighteen perches north twenty one degrees west seventeen perches south twenty Six Degrees west thirty tow perches South Seventy degrees west twenty six perches south twenty six degrees west thirty five perches south fifty seve degrees East fourteen perches north twenty degrees East Thirty perches north Eighty Seven degrees East twenty perches north fifty Eight Degress East thirty two perches then with a straight line to the beginning containing and laid out for ten acres of Land More or Less with all the singular the appurtenances unto the said ten acres of Land belonging or in wise appertaining together with the ways paths passages waters and water courses profits Commodities Liberties priviledges and advantages Hereditaments and appurtenas unto the said Land belonging or therewith used and enjoyed or accepted reported taken deemed or known as part or parcel thereof with all and every the tenements and Heriditaments with the Reversion and Reversions, remainder and remainders and all the said Harman Greathouses Right Title and Interest to the said ten acres of Land and Every part and parcel thereof To Have and To Hold the said Ten Acres of Land before described being in Baltimore County aforesaid with all and singular the appurtenances unto the same belonging or in anywise appertaining unto the said Michael Elder his heirs and assignes forever to the only proper use and behoof of the said Michael Elder his heirs and assigns forever and to none other use intent or purpose whatsoever and the said Herman Greathouse doth for himself, his heirs Executors and administrators and Each and Every of the doth Convenant and agree to and with the said Michael Elder his heirs and assigns that he the said Herman Greathouse and his heirs the said ten acres of Land before granted and described unto the said Michael Elder his heirs and assigns from all person and persons claiming from by or under will warrant and forever defend In Witness whereof the said Harman Greathouse had hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day year first above written.

Baltimore County to wit. On the third day of March in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and ninety two [3 Mar 1792] personally appeared before us the subscribers two Justices of the peace for Baltimore County Harman Greathouse who acknowledged the within deed to be his act and Deed and the within mentioned Land and Premises to be the right title and Estate of the said Michael Elder his heirs and assigns forever According to the true Intent and meaning thereof at the same time appeared before us the subscribers two Justices of the peace for Baltimore County Came Mary the wife of the said Harman Greathouse who being by us privately examined apart and out of the hearing of her said husband acknowledged her right of Dower in the land and premises mentioned in the within Deed to be the right title and Estate of Michael Elder his heirs and assigns and that she did the same of her own free will and accord not being induced thereto by fear or threats of her said husband or through fear of his displeasure.
