Anson County, NC
Anson County was founded from Bladen; western boundary limit was indefinite in 1750. Anson lost to creation of Rowan, and gained from unorganized territory; western boundary limit remained indefinite in 1753. Creation of Anson was repealed by King George II, in Privy Council, in 1754. Anson was re-created by the legislature in response to the Crown Instructions of 1755. Anson lost to creation of Mecklenburg in 1763. Anson lost to creation of Montgomery in 1779. Anson lost to creation of Richmond in 1779. Anson lost to creation of Union in 1842.
