Lancaster County Chronology Lancaster County was created from Chester and Non-County Area 1 in 1729. Lancaster lost to the creation of York in 1749. Lancaster lost to the creation of Cumberland in 1750. Lancaster lost to the creation of Berks in 1752. Lancaster lost to the creation of Northumberland in 1772.
